Journalists have a code of ethics? Who knew?

The code of ethics for the society of professional journalists states: ...public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues. And Wizbang explains why the public would be confused on that issue: Media Ignore General Sanchez' Criticisms of Them and Report Only that which Makes War Effort Look Bad I know the mainstream media is reporting on General Sanchez' speech, but they reported only the part of his comments that were critical of the administration and how it conducted the war, completely ignoring his damning statements about their journalistic ethics, proving that what he said about them was on target.
