Maximize the Power of Google AdWords
Pings: 1 - Written by Melissa Moreno Wednesday, 03 October 2007
Maximize the Power of Google AdWords In the brick-and-mortar world of advertising, ‘big is better’: bigger billboards are better attention-grabbers; ‘big, spectacular’ TV commercials with lots of special effects and a Steven Spielberg as director is guaranteed to make people sit up and take notice; a full-page, full-color newspaper or magazine ad with spectacular visuals or a well-known ‘face’ or personality will beat out a ¼ page, black and white announcement ad composed of lines of words, no matter how elegantly phrased or humorously written. This is the ‘real’ world, where the golden rule applies – “He who has the gold, makes the rules.” In other words, the big, multi-billion dollar corporations rule – they have the money, the people and the clout to erect gigantic billboards, buy television and radio airtime to the point that you see and hear nothing b...Write Comment (0 Comments)

Pings: 1 - Written by Melissa Moreno Monday, 01 October 2007
A Closer Look at Adsense and Chitika Adsense, as you knew it, is a medium for you to earn money from your site through the ads that you have linked to your page. As expected, when one thing is doing well in the market, a “competitor” will emerge to give the existing business fair competition. Thus, came Chitika. Though they both have the same purpose, there are still differences in their functions and features as no two programs can be exactly the same in features and services. To give you an overview of its differences, here is an outline highlighting the similarities and differences between the two programs: Chitika Adsense Period of program • Few months in the business • Few years in the business Number of Clients • Has only few publishers now, but is continuously growing • Has the largest number of publishers competing for the ads Ads Presentation • A...Write Comment (0 Comments)

Roads? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Roads
Pings: 1 - Written by The World by Road Sunday, 30 September 2007
It has been a few days since our last blog posting, but out here in the wild, wild west, I mean east, when you drive 20 minutes outside of Ulaanbaatar, you are pretty much stepping back into the past and things like internet connections do not exist nor are they necessary. We recently got back from a five day adventure 300 kilometers west of UB and it was quite an experience... so much so that it merits its own blog, so I will stick to the basics and cover the adventure of simply getting to our destination in this post. Before we got to Mongolia, we had heard about the road conditions in the country, or quite literally, the lack of roads entirely. It is hard to really imagine a country without roads, but once you arrive, the reality sets in. We wrote previously about our experiences of crossing the Gobi Desert, but believe it or not, the further west you head the more difficult the ter...Write Comment (0 Comments)

The Power of Google Checkout
Pings: 1 - Written by Melissa Moreno Sunday, 30 September 2007
The Power of Google Checkout™ Google recently launched their new secure online payment solution, similar to PayPal, called Google Checkout™ - which works in almost the same way PayPal works. Google Checkout allows you to quickly and easily acquire items from stores across the web while tracking all orders and shipping in one location. Google Checkout is a checkout process that allows sellers to integrate with their website, which will enable customers to buy from them quickly, securely and conveniently, using a single username and password. Once the customer buys, the sellers can use Checkout to charge their credit cards, process the orders, and receive payment in their bank account. Google Checkout from the Merchant’s Perspective Online merchants have two objectives: earn more, spend less. Google Checkout provides them with another way to manage transactions that ...Write Comment (0 Comments)

DigitalLife 2007 A Huge Disappointment
Pings: 1 - Written by Kyle Ingrelli Friday, 28 September 2007
Maybe I set my expectations too high or maybe I am too critical, but DigitalLife 2007 was completely underwhelming. Being new to NYC I expected the "ultimate consumer technology, gaming & entertainment event of the year" to be an amazing experience. Wow, was I wrong. I was expecting flashy booths and displays from some of the top electronics companies, however this was not the case. The few major companies with exhibits were showcasing the same stale old technology they've been schlepping for a while. Major companies you would expect to be at a show of this type were completely absent or under-represented. As far as "technology" offerings goes, many of the companies represented were "B-Level" companies. The gaming side of the convention was horrible with the notable exception of the Namco and Guitar Hero 3 booths. Virtually no other game producers were on hand to showcase the...Write Comment (0 Comments)

Problem with Air Bear software for Google Desktop
Pings: 1 - Written by Melissa Moreno Tuesday, 18 September 2007
I have a problem with my Air Bear software for Google Desktop. It is my Adsense Status that should “Displays daily information from your Google Adsense account, including statistics about Adsense for content, Adsense for search, and referrals.” But all it does is show error on all fields I try to reinstall and update from the home page but it’s the same problem. I guess I have to uninstall it soon and look for alternative because I really like to see live stats on my adsense so nothing goes wrong. Update: I now saw on the website that they are after 2 months working on a update and it will be available as soon as they can. Write Comment (0 Comments)
