[ACT]mac_virus.flv,480,300[/ACT] Well now it has come to light that there is a trojan for the mac that is in the wild and that if installed, could allow a Mac to be compromised in such a way that it is taken over. Oh oh, looks like someone needs an antivirus. Read the original story here.Write Comment (0 Comments)

Update From the "Stans"
Pings: 1 - Written by The World by Road Tuesday, 30 October 2007
Hello everyone. In-between trying to figure out visas for the rest of the Central Asia countries we are attempting to cross, still taking account for what exactly got stolen from us in Almaty and meeting some new friends, I thought I would give everyone a quick update. We are currently in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and we like it here a lot. It is a nice change from Kazakhstan and after some of our experiences there, it was great to get out. TWBR and Sergi in Karakol, KG The border crossing into Kyrgyzstan was one of the most uneventful crossings we have had to date, but the fresh foot of snow on the ground made for an action packed couple of hours as we helped to pull cars out of ditches and snow banks upon arrival into Stan number two. We spent a few nights in Karakol, a town on the SE corner of the second largest freshwater lake in the world and enjoyed the company of Sergi...Write Comment (0 Comments)

Cold War? No, its America's Cold Civil War!
Pings: 1 - Written by Karridine Sunday, 28 October 2007
As the decades-long war between the Free World and the subjugated nations and peoples behind the Iron Curtain (mainly the USSR) was a contest of bluff, propaganda, lying, deception and only in a few instances HOT combat, it was known for decades as The Cold War. (USSR lost the war when it could no longer finance its arms race. And a few dozen OTHER problems.) In like manner, the ongoing conflict between liberal, forward-thinking leftists and stubborn, logic-dependent conservatives has been named "The Cold Civil War" by uber-pundit Mark Steyn. Stay tuned, this subject is going to be a showcase discussion piece here, for a long time!Write Comment (0 Comments)

are you a true crime buff ?
Pings: 1 - Written by jr Saturday, 27 October 2007
Crimson Shadows has a lot of information on the new, virtual CSI. If you're looking for something interesting to do, or just plain bored and wish to try sleuthing, you will probably enjoy this. Is it time for true crime buffs to get a life? A second life, that is? More importantly, what exactly is a second life? In a nutshell, second life (SL) is the adult version of myspace. Instead of "pimping" your 2d myspace page however you get to "pimp" your avatar (AV), land or both. You can add friends, mute them (put them on ignore), allow them to see your online status (or not), share content, create/join groups, and chat privately and/or publicly. What differentiates SL from myspace is that you can actually meet your friends "in-world," attend functions and/or meetings together, go shopping, and even build and market things together. This, in an of itself, adds a rich dimension to th...Write Comment (0 Comments)

Spicy Grilled Flank Steak With Optional Mushroom Pan Sauce
Pings: 1 - Written by Jafo Friday, 26 October 2007
I have never really had too much flank steak in my life.  I don't know why, I just never got around to buying and trying it.  So the other day I am in the supermarket just looking for something different to make.  Staring at the butchers window I see this flank steak.  Now I have seen them cooked on many a cooking show but I have never actually eaten it, or cooked it before. So what the heck, I buy it and decide to try and make my own rub for it.  When we sliced this up, everyone at the table was astounded how well this came out. While I was searching for spices to make the rub, I came across one that I had never used before: Cardamom.  Reading the spice guide in the store it basically had little information on it other than some people use it in pot roast.  So, I figured I might be able to use it, and if not, I will try it for my next pot roast. When I got home and opened the s...Write Comment (0 Comments)
